I completely adored this story when I found it on AO3, but decided to leave feedback here instead. You actually made me sympathize with Thomas. And I just posted my squee/reactions to the series with a lot about Bates and Anna, so of course I love that section also.
And Sibyl is going to do her bit! I have to admit that one of the first things I said to myself when I realized we were going to wrap up with the war was, "Oh, thank heavens Robert is too old because I cannot handle more bad things happening to Cora." And it of course suits beautifully with all of the things about social change already established to have Sibyl be the one fighting in her way.
I'm also a huge sucker for the epistolary format, so I love the Mary/Matthew bits as well.
