Yuletide letter 2022
Hello Yuletide Author! Here's a few things to get you started if you're wondering what I might like in a story.
I love character-driven stories, missing scenes, in-universe AUs like different meet-cutes or paths not taken, angst with happy endings. I like gen pieces as much as romance. I'm more into het pairings in the fandoms I've chosen. Prefer stories that aren't heavy on the sex. Unrequited love, especially when the principals both know about it, can really be fun, too. In each of my requested fandoms, I'm totally cool with other canon characters and especially with worldbuilding where it fits.
My DNWs are non-canonical character death, fridging, graphic sex or violence (canon-typical violence in sci-fi or fantasy requests is okay), non-canonical or real-life politics, and modern/soul-mark/coffee shop/high school/university/pregnancy AU.
Andor (TV)
Mon Mothma, Maarva, Cassian Andor
Oh, all the Mon Mothma backstory! Especially pairing her with Tay, or explorations of her politics. You're free to ignore any existing canon (novels) as I haven't read them and I'm interested most in how she gets to be the woman we meet in Andor.
Maarva the early, early Rebel would be interesting. How and why she and Clem end up on Kenari, what it was like raising Cassian and really, most specifically, how she justified taking him and why. Older Maarva, disappointed maybe, still rebellious.
Cassian himself, stories about his childhood, character-driven stories about how he survived after Clem died.
Definitely anything in which these three interact - Maarva having some random connection with Mon, mother-son dynamics with Maarva and Cassian, later mother-son dynamics with Mon and Cassian.
OR, any and all worldbuilding that jumps off things we're learning on Andor.
Persuasion - Jane Austen
Frederick Wentworth, Anne Elliot, Elizabeth Elliot, Mary Musgrove
Anne/Frederick in their first courtship and engagement. Elizabeth, Anne, and Mary in the wake of their mother's passing. An AU where it's Sir Walter who died young, and the girls grow up with their mother instead - how does that affect their personalities, and does it change things for Anne and Frederick? The girls as adult women, interacting without the men in their lives. Charles transfering his affections to Mary and Anne's take on that whole situation. Elizabeth feeling the pressure of being the eldest, and all the expectations on her, especially from her father, but also Lady Russell. Only Anne can end up with Frederick :-)
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (TV)
Matt Murdock, Jennifer Walters
Oh, boy, all the Jennifer/Matt! Prefer nothing explicit though acknowledging their sexual relationship is fine. Hurt/comfort, physical affection (especially kisses, hand-holding, reassuring squeezes). I'd love to see them working together, in or out of the courtroom. Disagreeing on big issues but still being in love, making it work with their acknowledged superhero work. Different meeting than the show! Place them in the MCU somehow. Jen without her powers, Matt when he's still pretty broken. Jen in New York and meeting Foggy - Foggy making sure she's *good* for Matt! Fights with any possible bad guys - teaming up against Fisk, but I liked the randomness of Frog Man. Oh, so many things!
A League of Their Own (1992)
Dottie Hinson, Kit Keller, Jimmy Dugan, Marla Hooch
I ship Dottie/Jimmy and love seeing them love each other and baseball. Interested in Marla's baseball career after her marriage - in spite of it, or actively encouraged in it. Kit in the league without her sister, what it looks like if she gets in but Dottie never tries out. Dottie and Kit reconciling years later, or never reconciling. Family reunions where everyone relives the controversy of whether Dottie dropped the ball. Dottie and Kit growing up and learning how to play baseball, maybe watching a game. Kit collecting sports magazines and baseball cards, passing on a love of the game to her kids (*her* kids, or kids she teaches later). Dottie, Kit, and Marla bonding on their way to tryouts.
